US Lawmakers Urge Gun Manufacturers to Testify After Mass Shootings: Committee_我的网站

一 |     “Following the Fourth of July shooting in Highland Park, IL, Chair @RepMaloney sent letters to three major gun manufacturers requesting their appearance at an @OversightDems hearing on July 20, 2022,” the committee wrote on social media.,The letters were addressed to Marty Daniel, the CEO of Daniel Defense; Mark Smith, the president and CEO of Smith & Wesson Brands; and Christopher Killoy, the president and CEO of Sturm, Ruger & Co., The Washington Post reported.,This hearing is the second held by the committee to investigate the gun industry. Witnesses of the Uvalde and Buffalo mass shootings in May shared their experiences at the June 8 hearing. When the first hearing was announced in early June, the committee noted there had already been more than 200 mass shootings in the United States this year.,Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney is requesting the presence of the CEOs at the second hearing because of financial information given to the committee, according to The Washington Post, which acquired a copy of the letter sent to Killoy. She had previously requested five gun manufacturers to provide their gross revenue and profit for sales of AR-15-style semiautomatic rifles; annual advertising and marketing expenses for these guns; annual spending on federal and state lobbying, and funding for the National Rifle Association.,Maloney said the committee’s concerns that gun manufacturers were not taking sufficient precautions to limit the harm caused by their rifles had only grown after receiving the information. And just because I'm not working there anymore does not mean that we have a fallout in our relationship or any such dramatic thing. We both love each other endlessly. We have had disagreements creatively on various things Kuch Kuch Hota Hai onwards but that's nothing new. We've always been like that. And that's why we can do what we do. "I don't think I ever saw a future like that, the way she has accomplished," he said. "What I always knew, though, was that this tag would stay with her. Right before I played the song for her for the first time, I told her, 'No matter how big you become, no matter what you achieve in your life, you will always be referred to as this for the rest of your career.' And then I put on the song. I remember that moment clearly and she does too. I knew that this song is going to become this identity for this girl for the rest of her career," Mansukhani explained.      He also called Priyanka Chopra one of the finest actors he has worked with. He said, "She is one of the finest I worked with. She is so involved in your film. Priyanka will ask you questions and keep you on your toes. You can't take things for granted, you need to justify the characters, need to understand the back plot and the stories and where they come from, why they're emotional, what they're emotional about. "I don't think there can be another Desi Girl. There is the one and only Priyanka and some magic works just like that. The tag just stays, and I don't think one should even try to place it onto anyone else.
